About Marine Propulsion
Founded in 1993 by Anthony and Susie Black, Marine Propulsion has grown from a small mobile diesel mechanic business into a trusted full-service boatyard serving Charleston and the surrounding coastal communities. Originally operating from their home garage after relocating from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, the company quickly earned a reputation for dependable marine mechanical service, quality workmanship, and honest customer care. After expanding operations at Adams Creek Marine on Wadmalaw Island, Anthony and Susie purchased the boatyard in 2000 and have continued building a respected, family-run marine service facility focused on reliability and long-term customer relationships.
Today, Marine Propulsion provides comprehensive marine repair and boatyard services for boat owners throughout the Charleston area. From diesel engines, generators, transmissions, and electrical troubleshooting to fiberglass repair, hull painting, running gear work, and complete vessel restorations, their experienced technicians are committed to keeping every boat operating at peak performance. With their son Josh now helping manage daily operations, Marine Propulsion continues its tradition of personalized service, technical expertise, and dependable marine solutions both at the boatyard and directly at local docks and marinas.
