Marine Propulsion has been serving boat owners throughout Charleston and the South Carolina Lowcountry since 1993. Founded by Anthony and Susie Black after relocating from Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the company began as a small mobile diesel engine repair business operating from their home garage. Through hard work, technical expertise, and a commitment to exceptional customer service, Marine Propulsion quickly earned the trust of local boaters and expanded its operations to Adams Creek Marine on Wadmalaw Island. In 2000, Anthony and Susie purchased the boatyard, laying the foundation for what has become one of the area’s most respected marine service facilities.

Today, Marine Propulsion is a full-service boatyard and marine repair center providing comprehensive mechanical, propulsion, and vessel maintenance solutions for recreational boaters, fishermen, and yacht owners throughout the Charleston region. From diesel engines, generators, transmissions, and electrical diagnostics to fiberglass repair, hull refinishing, running gear service, and complete vessel restorations, our experienced team is dedicated to delivering quality workmanship and dependable results. Remaining true to its family-owned roots, Marine Propulsion now includes the next generation, with son Josh Black helping oversee daily operations. Together, the team continues to provide the personalized service, technical knowledge, and trusted marine expertise that customers have relied on for more than three decades.
